One-Shots
One Shots, or short stories are stories that are usually only one or two chapters long. Watase has made many One shot stories throughout her career. You can find out more information about each one shot by reading below.
Information contained on this website focuses solely on providing brief descriptions about so said series, and information (if available) on release dates and magazine info. No character descriptions will be found on this site. My focus is on Watase and her work, and doing character descriptions for each one shot is to time consuming. Some of the release dates are estimates. The ones that I know for sure, give the full date (month & year) if its just a year date listed, it may be incorrect. Debut Magazine: Sho-comi Bunny heart is a shorty detailing the adventures of Nyozeka, and her efforts to find the Neo-master (Alice_. She finds herself in ancient China, during an extreme drought. A young girl named Rakuen saves Nyozeka's life, and in turn teaches her how to use the Lotis word for water, giving relief to the drought stricken villages. The king hears of this magical girl, and calls her to the castle. But because Rakuen used the lotis for gain (thanks to her aunt) she can no longer use the word! Now the kings wants her head for treason. This one-shot has been reprinted in Volume 7 of Alice 19th (the last volume) and is available in English from Viz Media. |

Debut Magazine: Sho-comi #06 Shonen Aromatic is a story about a boy who comes from a long line of smellers. His family has the ability to smell someones scent, and match them up with their future spouse (since they would have the same smell). But when a girl comes to enlist his services, he is unable to detect her sent! This story was released as a furoku item in an issue of Sho-comi. It has also been released in Pochette #9 (year 2004) which new art was featured on the cover. It was also released in the back of volume 7 of Zettai Kareshi, which has been translated and released by Viz media. |

This one-shot was released as a furoku item in Sho-comi, and has since been released in volume 6 of Zettai Kareshi, which has been translated and released in English by Viz Media. |

Having regrets of not having children, a magical frog takes her on a journey, and places her in the body of her high school friend (who made her start having these thoughts) and she spends the day as a house wife, taking care of two children and a husband. This is a great story of self discovery, and learning to be happy with your life, and shows Watase's ability to cover a wide range of story topics. |

Set in a middle school background, two young boys find a mysterious box, and the school bully (a former friend) becomes trapped inside! The two boys have a limited amount of time, and many complex puzzles to solve in order to save the boy from certain death. But should they? This is a great story, and Watase's first in the Shonen manga genera. |
Ano Koneko no Mirai wo Watasha wa Shiranai

Debut Magazine: Flowers Zoukan Ano Koneko no Mirari wo Watasha wa Shiranai (which translates roughly into "I didn't know the future of that kitten") This story is Watase's first one-shot story since 2008's Pandora Cube. This one-shot was released in the Flowers spin off magazine Flowers Zoukan in May of 2013, and is 21 pages long. This magazine is released quarterly. The story follows a young girl, and her trials in school, along with the recurring appearance of a cat! |
